Petition update...we are gaining momentum!

It is not too late to submit an objection if you are thinking of doing so. The Glen Eira Council will continue to receive submissions considering how large this proposed development is and we hope that you might find our submission helpful for preparing your objections. 

Today we thought we would let everyone know of some of the real, practical, everyday impacts on local residents if the Retail Building and Apartment Building at the corner of Murrumbeena Rd and Dandenong Rd proceeds:
Traffic impacts from the Development will mean that it will become an everyday experience for residents when leaving their home in their car, will have to wait 10 minutes or more in their driveway for a break in the traffic grid lock;
Local residents will face long traffic queues and stalled traffic movements whenever they are returning home, adding 10 to 15 minutes onto everyday trips;
Any street Car parking that residents and visitors may use today will become significantly harder to find and parking outside your home will certainly become a thing of the past;
Pedestrians will face increasing challenges and dangers from the significantly higher Cars using local streets as a 'highway' to get through to the Retail Building etc;
School or child care drop offs or pick ups will become very difficult, parents will need to consider parking many blocks away from the school or face stalled grid lock for what will seem like an eternity.  
These traffic concerns and impacts will not be limited to Mon to Fri, business hours but, will be seven days a week and continue often into the late night as the Retail Services will be 7 days a week.
