Every weekend, as the sun begins to set, my family and I brace ourselves for the onslaught of noise and chaos caused by reckless motorbikes, two-wheelers, and four-wheelers racing through our quiet streets. My grandmother, who suffers from a neurological condition, becomes hysterical with each rev of an engine. The noise is not just a nuisance—it's a source of great distress for her and for many others in our community.

Roshnee is a residential area where the elderly, the sick, and babies should be able to live in peace. The constant racing disrupts their lives and poses a real danger. On numerous occasions, there have been near accidents right outside my home. We live in fear, thinking about when and where the next reckless driver might cause a tragedy.

The weekends, particularly before sunset, have become times of anxiety rather than relaxation. The reckless behavior by these drivers demonstrates a blatant disregard for the safety and wellbeing of our community members.

Noise pollution is proven to have detrimental effects on health, contributing to stress, sleep disruption, and other adverse outcomes. Additionally, the dangerous driving practices increase the likelihood of accidents, putting both pedestrians and the drivers themselves at risk.

We must put an end to this recklessness. I am calling on local authorities to enforce stricter regulations and increase patrols in our neighborhood to deter these dangerous activities.
