The Issue

As a homeowner in the peaceful Parks Circle community in Hudson, TX, the announcement of a new mobile home development within our neighborhood (Property ID 23783, Lot 178 at 496 Parks Circle) has raised significant concerns for me and many others. Parks Circle is cherished for its tranquility, safety, and strong sense of community. It is a place where families feel secure, and children can play outside freely without fear.

The proposed development threatens to disrupt the harmony of our lives. With the influx of mobile homes, we foresee an inevitable increase in crime rates, which is an unsettling prospect for any resident. Statistics from various towns and cities have shown that the introduction of mobile home parks often correlates with heightened crime levels. According to the National Association of Realtors, communities near large mobile home developments have reported increased police activity and property crimes.

Traffic congestion is another pressing issue. Our roads, designed to handle light local traffic, are ill-suited to accommodate the volume of vehicles that comes with a 13-lot mobile home park. Increased traffic not only endangers our children and pedestrians but also contributes to noise pollution and deteriorates our road infrastructure which is already a challenging issue.

Furthermore, there is a legitimate concern about the rise in stray animals. Mobile home developments can sometimes lack adequate management, leading to an increase in stray and unlicensed pets, which can pose health risks to our pets and families.

We propose that city planners reconsider the location of this development, exploring alternative sites that do not encroach on established neighborhoods.

Preserving our neighborhood's character and safety is paramount. We urge the Hudson city council and planning commission to listen to the voices of the community they serve and halt this proposed development. Please join us in protecting the integrity and serenity of our Parks Circle community by signing this petition.

A public hearing will be held on May 22, 2025, at 5:30pm at the City of Hudson Public Works Department 3458 Ted Trout Dr, Hudson ,Tx 75904. It is important as a community that we attend this meeting to voice our opposition to the Mobile Home Parks on Parks Circle
