The Issue
We, the undersigned leaseholders, collectively express our grave concerns regarding the management of our block by Freshwater / Highdorn Property Management. Dating back years, we have been subjected to:
- Excessive Charges: Repeated overcharging for maintenance and major works.
- Poor Quality Work: Employment of substandard contractors resulting in works completed to a very poor standard.
- Neglect and Economic Mismanagement: A long history of neglect leading to economically unworkable management fees.
Despite our efforts to seek justice through a tribunal, our case was mismanaged by our solicitor and barrister, resulting in a decision in favor of the management company. Our legal team failed to address our grievances effectively.
This mismanagement extends beyond our block, as Freshwater / Highdorn are known to treat other leaseholders in their managed properties similarly. Indicating a systemic problem rather than isolated incidents.
We call upon the relevant authorities in the UK Government to:
- Conduct a thorough investigation into the practices of Freshwater / Highdorn. To address the systemic issues affecting all their managed properties.
- Implement measures to ensure fair and transparent management practices.
- Hold Freshwater / Highdorn accountable for any overcharging and substandard work.
- Support for leaseholders in addressing financial hardships caused by the mismanagement and excessive fees.
