We the residents of Williamson Farms, The Preserves, and The Reserves neighborhoods petition the city of Oklahoma City to reject K&M Dirt Services, LLC's application for special permit to mine sand, gravel and clay through surface mining methods (construction equipment, crushers, screens, conveyor belts, processing equipment, dredging and pumping equipment, etc. ) to a maximum depth of 60 feet. We are opposed for, among other things, the following reasons: 1) substantial loss in property value; 2) decreased air quality due to dust pollution; 3) covering of properties with dust coming from the operation; 4) safety issue for children from the neighborhood; 5) loss of quality of life due to the excessive noise; 6) not the best use of property; 7) inadequate environmental quality control measures; 8) inadequate reclamation plan; and, 9) K&M poor reputation in other business dealings.
