Stop military attacks on Iran’s people and resources immediately.

The Issue

We, the signatories of this statement, strongly condemn any military attacks by the United States and Israel on Iran’s resources and its defenseless civilian population, as well as the human, environmental, and infrastructural consequences of such attacks. We call for the immediate cessation of all military actions against the people and resources of our country.

Amid widespread disruption of communications and restrictions on free access to the internet inside Iran, reports indicate serious damage to vital infrastructure, public resources, and civilian areas, which is in clear violation of all fundamental principles of international human rights. No military action that results in the destruction of public infrastructure, damage to national resources, and increased insecurity for citizens can be justified in the name of “supporting the people of Iran.”

It is evident that in the attacks, negotiations, plans, and official statements related to ceasefire arrangements and the future of this conflict, the rights and will of the people of Iran have been completely ignored. Attacks on vital resources and infrastructure, proposals for agreements based solely on securing the geopolitical interests of the United States in reopening the Strait of Hormuz, and proposals to rename this geopolitical location after the current President of the United States as the “Trump Strait,” as well as attempts to push Iran back to the Stone Age and turn Iran into a living hell, at a time when the people have been left exhausted in the slaughterhouse of violence and under the rule of the Islamic regime, clearly demonstrate the precedence of political interests over the rights of the people of Iran.

The protection of civilians’ lives, vital infrastructure, the environment, and the territorial integrity of countries are explicit obligations under the Charter of the United Nations, the Geneva Conventions, and international human rights covenants, and must be observed without exception.

The signatories of this statement call upon all freedom-loving individuals, human rights defenders, organizations, international institutions, and the global public to emphasize and insist on the following:

The immediate cessation of all attacks on the territory of Iran, civilian areas, and infrastructure, as well as the suspension of any military action that leads to the destruction of national resources and heritage or causes environmental damage to the country.
Full compliance by all parties to the conflict with international humanitarian law, especially the Geneva Conventions.
Ensuring the free access of the people of Iran to communications and the flow of information.
Practical respect for the right of the people of Iran to self-determination.
The establishment of independent international monitoring mechanisms to assess the condition of civilians, infrastructure, and resources in wartime conditions, and the use of international mechanisms to protect citizens’ lives against foreign war, violence, and internal repression.
It is the responsibility of all freedom-loving individuals, human rights defenders, organizations, international institutions, and global public opinion to raise their voices in support of the innocent people of Iran, in order to immediately stop attacks on civilians and protect Iran’s infrastructure and resources, as these people—under conditions of war, internal repression, and the complete disruption of communication channels from all sides—are exposed to killing, displacement, and the loss of everything, including even the possibility of an ordinary life in the future of Iran
