In our local schools, I have noticed over and over again that kids are stressed about school. Students have anxiety over homework, grades, tests, and really everything about school. I also know that many kids feel they don't truly get the material and are just hoping to be able to memorize it for tests. This is why I think we should get rid of midterms. Though I understand the point of LEAP tests at the end of the school year, I think that midterms are not effective. They cause unnecessary stress on both the students and teachers, and waste valuable time that could be spent reviewing material. If we came together and got rid of interim testing, it would benefit the school system and everyone involved in it in many ways.
