The Issue

I live very close by to the intersection of Pigeon Pass and Ironwood, and the possibility of having a McDonald's replacing Jose's Restaurant is extremely troubling to me and my community. Jose's Restaurant has been a staple for our neighborhood, serving not only delicious food but also representing a piece of our culture and community pride. I cannot imagine trading that for an all-night fast food chain that will disrupt our peaceful neighborhood.

The concerns about traffic are undeniable. If you've ever driven the 60 freeway, you're likely familiar with the congestion and dangerous stopped traffic at the In 'N Out Burger off-ramp. A similar, if not worse, scenario is expected at Pigeon Pass and Ironwood. The influx of traffic and the inevitable congestion could lead to a significant increase in accidents and pose a serious risk to pedestrians and drivers alike.

Moreover, we should question the priorities of our city officials who seem all too eager to replace our beloved local restaurant for the financial lure presented by a massive fast-food chain. What message does this send about their commitment to the safety and well-being of residents?

We urge the City and its elected representatives to reconsider this decision. Protect the charm and safety of our neighborhood instead of yielding to the financial temptations of a global corporation. Let us preserve the identity of our community, support our local businesses, and above all, ensure the safety and well-being of our residents.

By signing this petition, you are standing up for community values and helping to maintain the character and safety of our area. Together, let's show our city leaders where our priorities lie. Please sign this petition to stop McDonald's from replacing Jose's Restaurant.
