Stop mass deforestation in Nepal

Stop mass deforestation in Nepal
The Issue
The Nijgadh Airport is an ambitious construction project about to begin in Nepal that aim to construct an unnecessary airport by cutting down nearly 3 million trees. The area would decimate nearly 20000 acres of forest land and release nearly 30000 tons of carbon emissions every year causing more severe flooding in the nearby areas. The forest is home to 500 species of birds, 23 species of critically endangered plants(flora) and 22 species of endangered wildlife. The destruction of this forest would cause massive flooding around the area further damaging the already sensitive population of wildlife in the area including the critically endangered Bengal Tiger (18) and Asiatic Elephant (47). This will also cause massive arsenic deposition in river banks causing the soil and water to be polluted in catastrophic levels.
The time is very little for us to take any adequate action against this method. Our pleas to the government fall on deaf ears but with your help we could finally make a difference. Please sign this petition to help save this beautiful forest that these animals can call home. A place which they have so little left in the world already.
