Recently, the CPS in Maryland has been bringing in the Meitiv's kids in a well-published case and investigating the parents for the simple parental decision to let their kids range more freely than perhaps some other parents might. These actions by CPS and the police constitute an attack, we believe, on the principles of freedom upon which this country is founded. The CPS and the police have no business getting involved in cases other than true neglect and abuse, and CPS has now repeatedly crossed the line. They must be reigned in legislatively by the Mountgomery County Council. Where will they stop? Next, they will be telling us how to educate and feed our children, or maybe what their bedtimes should be or what they can and can't watch on TV. Legislation to define more clearly actual abuse or neglect perhaps. Some kind of Parental Rights Protection bill.
