The Issue

According to the norms of international law, the positions of the UN, the European Union, and all democratic countries of the world, the official borders of Ukraine are the borders of 1991.

Russian Federation has been implementing the concept of hybrid warfare for many years. An important role is played by the propaganda of the Russian Federation, both internal and external.

Mapaganda is one of the forms of propaganda of the Russian Federation. Mapaganda is the spreading of the idea of the dismemberment of Ukraine in the information space. Mapaganda is implemented through the distribution of fake images of Ukraine, in which the Crimea, Donetsk, Luhansk, Zaporizhzhya and Kherson regions of Ukraine are depicted as "disputed territory", part of the Russian Federation or part of the Russian Federation "claimed by Ukraine".

In 2009, the President of Russia, Volodymyr Putin, and the Minister of Defense of Russia, Sergei Shoigu, took under the patronage of the "Russian Geographical Society" (RGS). The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, Gazprom, leading Russian oligarchs act as partners of RGS. The purpose of the "Russian Geographical Society" is to spread fake images of Ukraine through international geographic and cartographic companies.

National Geographic 30+ international companies are waging an information war against Ukraine on the side of the Russian Federation - they massively spread fakes about Ukraine in educational materials (school textbooks, world atlases, wall maps, globes, atlases for motorists, tourist products, e-maps, Wikipedia) with a total circulation of millions of copies!

"Expertly researched and designed, National Geographic's Europe Wall Map is the authoritative map of Europe by which other reference maps are measured"

The situation is especially catastrophic in Germany, Austria and Switzerland.
With any request to buy educational products with images of the world or Europe, if you come to the offline or online store of the listed stores, you will most likely buy fake materials about Ukraine:

  • textbooks for schools
  • world atlases for children, schools or adults
  • globes for children and adults
  • political wall maps
  • atlases for drivers
  • tourist guides.

The system for the distribution of fake materials is created in such a way as to close all requests of various categories of consumers.

As a result, millions of consumers from the EU, the UK and the USA do not perceive Ukraine within the borders of 1991:

  1. We demand that incorrect images of Ukraine be equated with propaganda!
  2. We demand that a decision be made at the legislative level of the EU, the UK and the USA to ban the production, printing and distribution of incorrect images of Ukraine that violate the norms of international law! The only correct image of Ukraine is the image of Ukraine in the borders of 1991!
