UPDATE: State Senator Carol Fukunaga will join "Stop Manoa Banyan Court" sign-wavers this Friday (20 Dec), 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. @ intersection of East Manoa Rd and Oahu Ave. This information sign-waving will broaden awareness in the Manoa Community of the City's Department of Planning & Permitting’s (DPP) upcoming decision on Lin Yee Chung Association's (LYCA) proposed controversial Manoa Banyan Court (MBC) development.
By 27 Dec, DPP is expected to render its decision on LYCA's MBC Final Environmental Assessment submittal. LYCA is proposing to develop MBC, a high-density 288 unit campus of four 3-story concrete rental housing complexes and paved parking lots on approx 8 acres of P-2 zoned preservation forest land adjacent to Manoa Chinese Cemetery. If allowed to proceed, Manoa Banyan Court may forever alter the quiet peaceful low-density residential character of Manoa Valley.
Over 5200 people have signed the STOP MANOA BANYAN COURT online petition: https://www.change.org/p/stop-manoa-banyan-court.
