Imagine trusting someone, only to be betrayed in a way that can inflict irreversible harm. That was my story; I became a victim of sexual manipulation and withholding information about sexually transmitted infections (STIs). I am now carrying HPV (a strain that can lead to cancer) and HSV1 (causing cold sores) due to unprotected contact, manipulation, and lack of honesty. But this is not only about me; it's about all potential victims of such negligence.

It's estimated that about one in two sexually active people will contract an STI by the time they're 25 (American Sexual Health Association). Despite these alarming statistics, many individuals still engage in sexual activities without disclosing their STI status and nothing is being done about it. This dishonesty and deception create an environment where the transmission of STIs is facilitated rather than prevented.

We propose legislation would target and penalise manipulative tactics aimed at deceitfully obtaining sexual relations resulting in STI transmission. Such directive would create a safer environment and would protect countless individuals from unnecessary harm, distress, and potential life-threatening health conditions.

Our Goals include:

1. Mandatory Education: We urge local health authorities and educational institutions to incorporate comprehensive sexual health education that covers the importance of STI and STD disclosure, focusing on informed consent and mutual respect between partners. 

2. Support Resources: We request the establishment of support resources for individuals to facilitate open conversations about sexual health, reducing stigma, and fear associated with disclosure. 

 3. Promoting Healthy Relationships: We advocate for initiatives that teach effective communication skills to prevent manipulation and ensure that both partners feel safe and respected in their sexual relationships.
