Pfizer's Premarin, a medication for menopausal symptoms, is made from Pregnant Mare's Urine in a cruel, inhumane process.

There are other, and better, menopausal drugs available that do not require:

• keeping impregnated mares in TINY confinement stalls where they cannot move and are made to stand 24/7 for SIX to SEVEN MONTHS during their pregnancies,
• strapping a urine-collecting apparatus to the mares that chafe and can cause untreated sores and infections,
• keeping them dehydrated and in constant thirst for SIX to SEVEN MONTHS to concentrate the estrogen in their urine, often resulting in untreated kidney and liver disease.

These mares often develop painful leg and hoof problems, and even ruptured reproductive organs from constant yearly re-impregnation and standing 24/7 without moving for months.  Unfortunately, there is little to no veterinary care for them because of the cost to Pfizer.

After the mares give birth, most foals are sent to slaughter.  Some of the fillies are saved to replace worn-out and physically exhausted mares after their 10 years or more of constant re-impregnation and confinement.

Please sign this petition to Pfizer CEO Albert Bourla to demand that Pfizer discontinue this animal abuse.
