The Issue

Rocklin is a vibrant community that has worked hard to establish itself as a family-friendly area with excellent schools and beautiful neighborhoods. Personally, I'm concerned about the impact that new low-income housing projects will have on our well-established neighborhoods. The increasing traffic and potential for lowered property values are major concerns for me and many of my neighbors.

The charm of Rocklin lies in its safe streets and the close-knit community, offering a unique quality of life to its residents. The proposed low-income housing developments threaten not only the property values but the community spirit that we have all come to treasure. Our schools could become overcrowded, leading to decreased educational opportunities for our children.

Statistics show that sudden changes in neighborhood compositions can lead to increased crime rates and traffic incidents, disrupting the harmonious environment we strive to maintain. Various reports highlight that property values tend to stagnate or even decrease when there are significant housing developments introduced in a short time period.

We recognize and value the importance of affordable housing, nonetheless, it is vital that city planners consider the long-term implications on existing residential areas. There are other areas in the city that may be more suitable for these developments, areas that wouldn't compromise the integrity of our current neighborhoods.

Let's work together to advocate for responsible urban planning that meets the needs of all Rocklin residents without compromising on the established neighborhoods' living standards and values. Your voice matters. Please sign this petition to encourage the City Council to reconsider the locations for new low-income housing projects in Rocklin.
