STOP Ley taurina de menores en Euskadi-Against torture of baby bulls in the Basque Country
El problema
The Basque Country passes a law that will allow the torture of baby bulls under 3 months (ENGLISH VERSION BELOW).
El EAj-PNV y el PSE-EE han registrado una proposición de ley en el Parlamento Vasco, por el procedimiento de urgencia, para que los niños y niñas puedan participar en festejos taurinos y utilizar becerros de unos 3 meses de edad en festejos taurinos populares.
Exigimos la RETIRADA INMEDIATA de la Proposición de Ley (PL) para la regulación de los festejos taurinos de fomento. Esta PL, impulsada por estos dos partido que forma el Gobierno Vasco, es una regresión ética y un fraude que ataca directamente los principios de bienestar animal ya establecidos en la Ley 9/2022 de protección animal de Euskadi.
La PL debe ser rechazada porque:
1.Anula la Ley 9/2022: Intenta permitir lo que prohíbe la Ley Vasca de Protección Animal, los festejos con becerritos, la cual además tipificó como infracción grave la participación de animales menores de seis meses. El objetivo es crear una ley para que prácticas vetadas puedan realizarse.
2.Falsedad del "Patrimonio Cultural": Se justifica en el falaz argumento de que estos festejos son Patrimonio Cultural Inmaterial, una declaración que Euskadi nunca ha emitido y que la UNESCO rechazó en 2020. Es una base falsa.
3.Perversión Educativa: Promueve que niños y niñas "aprendan a respetar" a los animales mediante festejos que implican su cosificación, el sufrimiento, el terror y el estrés agónico de pequeños becerritos. Fomentar la violencia en la infancia no puede ser jamás una herramienta pedagógica.
¡Firma para proteger a los animales y evitar que el interés político se imponga a la ética y los valores cívicos de Euskadi!

Al tramitar esta PL por el procedimiento de urgencia, los tiempos se acortan. Es fundamental conseguir el máximo de firmas y que estos dos partidos entiendan que la ciudadanía se opone al maltrato de pequeños becerros y a la exposición de menores a situaciones de riesgo y posibles accidentes.

The problem
The EAj-PNV and PSE-EE parties have submitted a bill to the Basque Parliament, under urgent procedure, to allow children to participate in bullfighting festivals for promotional purposes and to use calves around three months old in popular bullfighting festivals.
We demand the IMMEDIATE WITHDRAWAL of the Bill (PL) for the regulation of bullfighting festivals. This Bill, promoted by the two parties that form the Basque Government, is an ethical regression and a fraud that directly attacks the principles of animal welfare already established in Law 9/2022 on animal protection in the Basque Country.
The LP must be rejected because:
1. Repeals Law 9/2022: Attempts to allow what is prohibited by the Basque Animal Protection Law, namely festivities involving calves, which also classified the participation of animals under six months of age as a serious offence. The aim is to create a law so that banned practices can be carried out.
2. Falsehood of ‘Cultural Heritage’: It is justified by the fallacious argument that these festivities are Intangible Cultural Heritage, a declaration that the Basque Country has never issued and that UNESCO rejected in 2020. It is a false basis.
3. Educational perversion: It promotes that children ‘learn to respect’ animals through celebrations that involve their objectification, suffering, terror and agonising stress of young calves. Encouraging violence in childhood can never be a pedagogical tool.
Sign to protect animals and prevent political interests from prevailing over the ethics and civic values of the Basque Country!
