My nephew has been being severely bullied at school for 3 years for being part of the LGBTQ community! He is a freshman at North Rose Wolcott this year. The district has ignored his complaints, teachers have watched the bullying take place, his bus driver has told my brother that he's the victim, and no one has done anything to protect my nephew or put a stop to the nonstop harassment! 

The names that he has been called have brought his parents to tears. Somehow my nephew has handled it amazingly for 3 years. But, now he's a freshman and after 3 years of dealing with relentless taunting and bullying, he finally reacted. He responded with something inappropriate and now the district is treating him like HE is this out of control kid! 

He is a very smart student, he has received multiple notes/letters over the last few years from teachers, telling his parents what an amazing and smart kid he is!! After ignoring the homophobic bullying for years, now the district is trying to suspend him long term or even expel him. This is not ok!! They have chosen to ignore the nonstop homophobic bullying and now that he finally reached his breaking point, they want to treat him like he is the bad guy. 

My nephew has handled this all with so much strength, I'm not sure even I could have dealt with everything he has for so long! 

Please sign this petition to support my nephew. North Rose Wolcott needs to wake up and stop ignoring and even encouraging homophobic bullying! They need to take the necessary steps to protect their students safety and mental health!!
