Del Mar Wagering Keeps Dropping, let's Pull the Plug on Horse Racing in California!

Del Mar Racing wagering handle last weekend (Thu-Sun) was DOWN 4.2% from 2025 even with 1 more race this year and the Avg Field Size this year was DOWN 9%. THIS after 3 young horses died racing there in the first 3 weeks of this summer's racing meet: Valentina Jan on August 6th, and Can You Dream and Cornucopian on July 26th. 

Del Mar’s biggest competition, Saratoga in upstate New York, had over Twice the Del Mar wagering handle on just 36% more races than Del Mar last week.

Let's put the horses out of the California Horse Racing industry's misery and pull the plug -- Repeal the legalization of betting on live horses first added to the California Constitution in 1933 by California voters to raise revenue during the Great Depression. Our California Legislature can put this on the November 2028 Ballot by voting to do so by June 2028.
