The residents of Carver Lane, Alhambra Dr, Madrid Dr, Pekka Dr, and Subban Ct in Lebanon City have been living a nightmare since learning that the originally proposed Site 13 for the new wastewater treatment plant has been drastically expanded. Initially designated just for the Rockwood Recycling Plant, the site now includes additional properties zoned for residential use. This sudden change means that the plant will be erected adjacent to our community, right next to homes filled with families who have built their lives in these peaceful neighborhoods.

Wastewater treatment facilities, while necessary, bring with them an increased risk of air and water pollution. When sited near residential areas, they can drastically decrease property values and affect residents' well-being.

Furthermore, the Site 13+ expansion seems to have been pushed forward with minimal consultation with the local residents. This lack of transparency and failure to adequately involve the community in decision-making processes is alarming. Our voices deserve to be heard, and the future of our neighborhoods should not be determined without our input.

We are urging Lebanon City officials to reconsider their plan and halt the expansion of Site 13+ into residential areas.  We demand alternative sites that do not impact residential properties be considered in order to uphold the integrity of our community and protect the health and safety of its residents.
