Stop Killing Wolves To Appease Cattle Ranchers!

A wolf that was one of three members of an endangered wolf pack has been killed for preying on cattle. Local conservation groups petitioned Gov. Jay Inslee just four days before the killing. They requested that the Washington Fish and Wildlife Commission to draft new rules limiting when state officials can kill wolves over conflicts with livestock.

Ranchers say wolves are preying on their cattle, and they reserve the right to kill them. There are over a million head of cattle and only an estimated 126 wolves in Washington. Profit should never take precedence over protecting our wildlife and the delicate balance of our natural ecosystem. The cattle ranchers are to blame for having ranches in wolf territory. There is no justification for killing a predatory animal that naturally preys on animals such as cattle, especially, not when cattle are placed in their territory.

Tell Governor Inslee you support his decision to protect more wolves from being killed by the WDFW to appease cattle ranchers.
