The Issue

From a personal perspective, I've seen increasing deforestation, with magnificent forests being demolished to make way for apartments. This destructive transformation paves the way for increasing traffic and noise that not only impacts us but also the myriad life forms whose home it used to be, aka our animals.

Forests are not just expanses of tall timber. They are a complex ecosystem filled with life, each one intricately intertwined with the other, creating a delicate balance. When we demolish forests, we are not only destroying these tall trees but also the safe haven of numerous animals.

According to the World Bank, forests are home to over 80% of the world's terrestrial biodiversity. Yet, we lose 18.7 million acres of forests annually, equivalent to 27 soccer fields every minute. It's high time we acknowledged this alarming loss and the effects of such actions on our treasured wildlife and ecosystems. (Sources: World Bank, World Wildlife Fund)

Also to add, back in 2016ish we had many deer, foxes, rabbits, and so on running around out areas because of the forests being their homes, now there is barely any forest left in the mooresville area. Think about how many animals our losing their homes and how many got killed because of that.. dont you want to put an end to this? and its not stopping any time soon either, forest being knocked down that were huge and all just to build apartments. Apartments hold so much more people unlike houses, meaning our population is growing BUT our roads arent!! most roads remain one lane and that is starting to cause severe traffic in our area though that was never like that. So by signing this petition you are helping to save animals and their homes, keep mooresville pretty and green, stopping traffic, stopping this unnecessary population growth.
