The Butchalla First Nation will hold a beautiful Smoke Ceremony in celebration of Piper James life, after her tragic death from drowning. Her family will attend. We thank the Butchalla for their kindness. First and foremost, our hearts go out to the James family, who are in unimaginable grief right now. https://www.9news.com.au/national/piper-james-autospy-results-family-of-canadian-teenager-given-preliminary-autospy-results/5c930657-2d51-4f27-bc53-08283ff9a2be
Piper James loved all animals and would not want the dingoes to be killed. Her parents were relieved to hear her death was frim drowning, not dingoes, since she loved to swim, and loved animals. The premier of Queensland had threatened a cull if she had been killed by the dingoes. Her parents would condemn a cull. https://www.abc.net.au/news/2026-01-24/piper-james-family-plan-to-return-her-home-to-canada/106265238
While Piper may have been playfully nipped by dingoes on the beach while still alive, her father and mother want the world to know the dingoes are innocent of her death and that Piper wants the dingoes protected.
Let's honour her by protecting all the animals on K'Gari. https://www.abc.net.au/news/2026-01-23/canadian-teen-piper-james-likely-died-from-drowning-on-kgari/106256020
