STOP KILLING DOGS AND MAKING IT AS A FOOD IN DRINKING SESSION
The Issue
I am Jessie Nebres a resident of La Trinidad, Benguet, Philippines. I am a dog lover and it hurts me that in our community, killing dogs are being normalize. Some cultures have a passed down practice of butchering dogs for food especially during drinking sessions. But given modern ethics, animal welfare issues, and public health concerns, it's time to reflect on this tradition. Here's why you should support this petition:
Let's start by talking about the problem of animal abuse. Dogs that are raised for meat are frequently kept in cruel circumstances and endure terrible misery all of their lives. These creatures are frequently killed in cruel ways that result in needless suffering. We must work as a society to outlaw all types of animal abuse. There is also the emotional connection that exists between people and dogs. For thousands of years, humans have tamed and bred dogs to be our friends. They are our loyal companions and source of unconditional love; they even work as dogs in a variety of roles. There is an obvious gap between our attachment with pets and the realities of the dog meat trade when we think of the idea of murdering and eating an animal we consider a family member. The serious risks to public health caused by the dog meat trade are the last reason to support this petition. The trade can spread diseases like rabies, which puts people who deal with the meat and those who eat it at danger. The usually unclean and uncontrolled conditions of the trade also raise the risk of zoonotic infections, which can spread from animals to people.
There are many strong and many reasons to support the petition to stop slaughtering dogs for food and drink purposes, including public health, ethical grounds, animal welfare, and emotional relationships. We can contribute to a society that is more moral, ethical, and compassionate by signing this petition. Join forces with us to speak up for our cherished dogs, who are unable to speak for themselves.
