Hello Neighbors:

11254-56 Valley Spring Lane, Woodbridge Park, Studio City, Los Angeles, is an illegal short-term rental party house.  The worst of its frequent parties happened on June 25 when the LAPD had to send 20 police in riot gear along with one of its helicopters to disperse 500 partygoers, some of whom taunted the police and were seen carrying guns. In July, a week of non-stop parties resulted in the police being called again.

Councilman Krekorian’s office, the LAPD, and LA City Housing are all aware of the situation. The owner of the party house has received violations of the short-term rental ordiance from the City of Los Angeles as well as an "excessive illegal unruly party" violation from the LAPD. The house is owned by builder Arie Abekasis, and managed by his son, Dylan.

One of the ways that short-term rental/party house owners try to skirt the law is by listing the house for sale and claiming they are only renting it until it sells.  Keller Williams Real Estate, which is cozy with the Abekasis family, has had the listing for more than a year.  After some initial open houses, which generated little interest in the property, KW continues to shield Arie and Dylan. We believe the main home, its attached apartment, and the ADU were designed to function solely as short-term rentals, and not a family home.

We have asked Keller Williams Studio City to support the Woodbridge Park neighbors by dropping the listing, but they refuse, choosing to put the Abekasis family ahead of the neighborhood.

Therefore, we are circulating a petition stating that as long as Keller Williams lists 11254-56 Valley Spring, we will not list our homes or do any business with Keller Williams.  Please join your neighbors in boycotting Keller Williams and sign this petition.
