Stop Karis Critical from building a data center in Prairie Township

Stop Karis Critical from building a data center in Prairie Township
The Issue
In December 2024, Karis Critical CMH LLC purchased farmland spanning over 100 acres located at 535 Cole Rd in Galloway, OH with plans to transform this serene landscape into a "power-ready" site for a hyperscale data center. This development poses numerous risks to our beloved community in Township.
Firstly, the construction and operation of the data center threatens to pollute our ground water, which is a vital resource, especially for those of us relying on a well system. The contamination could have severe long-term health and environmental consequences, affecting our families and future generations.
Moreover, the data center will introduce significant noise and light pollution, disrupting the peace and tranquility that our community now enjoys. This disturbance can affect our daily lives, mental well-being, and the natural rhythm of local wildlife.
Another concern is the potential increase in electricity prices. The power demands of a hyperscale data center are enormous, and this increased demand may result in higher electricity costs for residents, burdening our families financially.
Lastly, there is the inevitable depreciation of property values. The presence and the permanent operational functions of such a large facility could diminish the rural charm, making our homes less desirable and reducing their market value.
Our community is defined by its rich agricultural land, peaceful environment, and strong neighborhood bonds. Allowing Karis Critical CMH LLC to build this data center not only risks our immediate environment and lifestyle but also jeopardizes the essence of what makes Township unique and cherished by its residents.
We urge the local authorities, planning commissions, and decision-makers to reconsider and deny the approval of this development. We need to preserve the integrity, health, and prosperity of our community for ourselves and future generations.
Please join us in standing against this development. Let's protect Township from becoming an industrial site and preserve it as a haven for all who call it home.
Sign this petition to voice your opposition and safeguard our community's future.
