Good evening whānau! I’m pleased to be able to inform you that the Bolton Street and Marlowe Road Kāinga Ora redevelopment has been PAUSED. This is a positive outcome as we look for a plan and reconsideration that sees pensioner housing return in Blockhouse Bay as well as less intensification and no through road.
Please note the below message received today from Kāinga Ora: “I have been advised that Auckland Council has confirmed all section 92 requests have been responded to by Kāinga Ora, we continue to await outcome of Council resource consent application. In the meantime, I also confirm Kāinga Ora – Homes and Communities is pausing plans to deliver 68 homes on our land at Marlowe Rd and Bolton St. Like other Kainga Ora social housing projects not already contracted for delivery, this development is being paused while we work with the Ministry of Housing and Urban Development on our asset management strategy, including understanding priorities and financing for our housing renewal programme.”
