The Issue

Working for a Jim Pattison Group company, I've always taken pride in our ethical standards and community initiatives. That's why I was shocked and deeply concerned when I learned about the plan to sell a Virginia warehouse to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). This potential sale is not just a business transaction; it holds significant social and moral implications for our communities and those of us who believe in ethical business practices.

ICE's practices, especially regarding the detention of immigrants, have been controversial and have raised serious human rights concerns. Facilities under ICE’s jurisdiction have been criticized for their conditions, treatment of detainees, and lack of oversight. By allowing this sale to proceed, Jim Pattison Group would be complicit in the continuation of these questionable practices.

The Jim Pattison Group claims to uphold strong corporate responsibility. However, this sale would contradict those values by prioritizing profit over people. We are urging the leadership of the Jim Pattison Group to reconsider this sale, halt negotiations, and instead seek out an alternative buyer.

We call upon individuals who believe in corporate accountability and human rights to join us in calling for the Jim Pattison Group to cancel this transaction. Sign this petition to let them know that we stand for justice, integrity, and compassion above all else. Together, we can make a difference and ensure that ethical business practices prevail over profit-driven motives. Sign now to make your voice heard!
