Stop Irresponsible, Selfish, and Greedy Breeders - Demand Accountability

The Issue

COMPANION ANIMALS IN OUR HUMAN SOCIETY, ESPECIALLY POST COVID - SUFFER.

They suffer from the most incideous ailment of all - irresponsible, selfish, and greedy human beings.

Today, right now, humane societies and rescue organizations are beyond capacity. There is no more room for animals in need of help.

Yet, venues like Kijiji and other online selling sites are chock a block full of ads for kittens, puppies, and adults alike.

Irresponsible and selfish people sell their products to other irresponsible and selfish people - and the cycle never, EVER ends.

It’s not news to anyone that animal suffering is primarily rooted in human ego, human superiority, and human neglect.

How do we hold our species accountable for the suffering they are a direct cause of?

So many approaches have been tried over the years, and trying to deal with these abusers - and yes, that’s exactly what they are - with a gentle hand DOES NOT WORK!

If there is a demand - there will be a supply.

This seems to be human nature.

So, first and foremost - tackle the irresponsible BUYERS.

Next, tackle the irresponsible and selfish SUPPLIERS.

A venue like Kijiji, or any online site, is not primarily at fault. They are not the CAUSE, although they could certainly help these animals by initiating better guidelines for selling living, breathing, sentient beings, who have emotions and most certainly feel pain, neglect, and physical and psychological abuse.

Buyers need to show they have good intentions, appropriate education and knowledge, and financial stability to provide a secure home, food, and medical care for the - entire life of the animal. They are not toys for children, nor are they cutsie things to teach anatomy or any other science.

Breeders, intentional or not, must show that they have appropriate knowledge and education to understand the needs of these animals BEFORE bringing these sentient beings on to our planet. They must also prove that they have the financial stability and ability to provide a secure home, food, and medical care. They must also prove that they can provide appropriate facilities for each animal to live a natural and enriched life, not confined to a cage or other inappropriate housing. And most of all, they must prove that their intention is to act humanely and in the best interest of the animal - now and for its future.

New homes must be thoroughly screened for appropriateness and ability to buy a ‘product’ that must be cared for for up to 10-15 YEARS!

PLEASE JOIN US IN OUR FIGHT TO PROTECT THE FUTURE OF ALL THE ANIMALS WE SHARE OUR HOMES AND LOVE WITH!
