Why this petition matters

Started by Sara

An ongoing series of protests and civil unrest against the government of Iran began in Tehran on 16 September 2022 as a reaction to the death of 22-year-old Mahsa Amini who has been arrested by the Guidance patrol for wearing an improper hijab.

According to Iran human rights, at least 234 people had been killed as a result of the government’s intervention in the protests.

An unknown number of protesting students was suspended from universities this week.

over 300 people have been indicted including seven with an offence that can carry the death penalty.

Mohammad Ghobadlou was charged in Tehran with “corruption on earth”, as an offence punishable by death!!!

Their lawyers have been dismissed and non of them had the right to defend themselves in court.

Iran must immediately halt the execution of these seven young protesters sentenced to death in relation to their support for human rights!

Imagine living in a country were courts rule death sentence, after only one trial, for those protesting against brutality and murders of the government! The cruel irony of Islamic republic!
