Stop Iran's Senseless Dog Massacre

Stop Iran's Senseless Dog Massacre
Why this petition matters
The new Iranian government's strict anti pet policy due to seemingly un-Islamic and Western nature of it, despite dogs having roamed and lived alongside the people in the countryside for millenia, recently led to a sudden massacre of close to 1700 dogs in the country. These innocent stray dogs were being cared for in a non profit facility run by good Samaritans who neutered, spayed and vaccinated these sweet creatures. In the video below you see their dead bodies and their paws tied up with wires and gunshot wounds to their hearts and heads.
The Iranian government has a long history of deploying state violence to intimidate and subdue their people and this is the latest example of killing innocent vaccinated and neutered dogs that posed no health risks to anyone much less had any owners that the bill originally spoke of, just to make an example of a draconian law. While the world obsesses over Iran's nuclear activities, a silent massacre of this magnitude should NOT go unnoticed. Please contact Iran's UN mission below and ask them to stop such heinous and senseless acts against these voiceless animals.

Ironically these same animals are currently being used for search and rescue operations to save the victims of the most recent flash floods. The hypocrisy is beyond disgusting.
Please share this petition with as many friends and family as you can. The howling souls of these 1700 murdered dogs will thank you.
