Dear Petition Signers,
It is with overwhelming frustration and anger that today we have been notified via email from the head engineer on the project that the decision to move forward with the construction of a 10m high stink pipe on the corner of McAllisters Road and Buenavista Avenue remains unchanged.
Not ONE of the counselors at the meeting on October 26th nor the Mayor has called or emailed us back since the meeting. We also were not allowed to ask questions to the councelors at the meeting, and they in turn did not ask us any. This was a disgrace. This shows their complete lack of interest in the community concerns.
They have still failed to produce a map claiming the 220 10M pipes in the area, however have only given 10 photos of those near houses and another 12 in parks and reserves.
They have also failed to inform us of those that are near homes, their ‘consultation’ process as residents were most likely not informed and they were erected before they had a chance to oppose it.
This blatant disregard for the voices and concerns of us, the rate payers, and the local Bilambil Heights community is nothing short of infuriating. It seems the Tweed Shire Council remains steadfast in their decision, unwilling to explore alternative solutions that are less intrusive, further emphasising their lack of empathy for our plight and draconian dictatorship.
