Stop injustice happening at HPS
The Issue
I don’t know if you’ve heard but our Hart High school wrestling coaches are being let go due to some False critical accusations against them. Main one is supplying Hart High School wrestling team with alcohol. This impacts the coach’s and the team. Last year the team lost two main coach’s that were very successful and loved by us all. We all knew it was going to be hard to fill their shoes. Then our new head coach Elijah Flores and assistant coach Josh Galvan his brother came in to help this year. Our team bonded and worked hard with them. Our team made it to the final 8 this year in Michigan D3 as a team in just their first year of coaching which our past coach’s had been on a three peat streak. People don’t realize how these careless decisions impact the kids because we most likely won’t have a program next year. We feel discouraged and disappointed in our school system. These two have impacted us so much with the short amount of time they have been here. For those that don’t know that wrestling is one of the most mentally draining sports you can participate in and these two coaches made sure to push us hard while also making it mentally easier for us. They cared for our physical and mental well-being. Most of these kids can lose up to 20-30 pounds in a season that along with the dedication we have to put in to get far adding on everyday stress in a life as a teenager is hard.
In results of all this Elijah also lost his job in the middle school because of the accusations. They will have a bad reputation due to lies they do not have proof of any of this happening and if you asked anyone who was there they would tell you they know their coaches loved their job coaching us. This is something they have been doing all their lives and everyone on the team needs them.
We need to make this right and we forget even though we are kids we still have a voice. Please vote to get our coaches back enough is enough this is not the first time we have seen unfair things happen in our school but we have to stand up for what is right. This does not define who we are as Pirates we are better than this.
