Stop Inhumane Monkey Experiments at Harvard University

The Issue

My devotion to animal rights is deeply personal. I believe in supporting scientific advancements that contribute beneficially to society, but not at the expense of causing torture and harm to innocent lives. For 40 years, experiments have been conducted at Harvard University on monkeys, by a researcher named Margaret Livingstone. These horrors include activities like sewing their eyes shut and subjecting innocent animals to perpetual suffering. The lack of significant findings or useful contributions to human health research, despite decades of cruel tests, magnifies the pointless inhumanity of these procedures.

According to the Humane Society of the United States, primates like monkeys are highly intelligent creatures with heightened sensitivity to pain (Humane Society Sources, 2016). These practices inflict undue cruelty and anguish on them, and it is unacceptable. By our ethical standards, no being, human or animal, should bear such immense pain for an experiment, especially one that has proved futile over the years.

It's time for us to take a stand against these inhumane procedures and demand an end to these experiments at Harvard University. Every voice, every signature counts. Sign this petition and help liberate these animals from a life of suffering.
