This petition strikes close to my heart, as I believe no animal deserves to be mistreated, let alone killed inhumane ways. I hold a deep affection for these innocent creatures that don't have a voice, treating them as if they were my own. At Columbus Animal Control, located at 4910 Milgen Rd, Columbus, GA 31907, dogs are reportedly being put down using heart sticks, a cruel and painful method that involves jabbing their heart vessel directly.

This horrendous practice is not only inhumane, but it also crosses legal lines, meriting heavy penalties, such as substantial fines and potential incarceration. The American Veterinary Medical Association considers intracardiac injections, or 'heart stick' euthanasia, in emergency situations only, and when performed on an anesthetized animal. However, allegations suggest Columbus Animal Control is not abiding by these guidelines.

We demand a full investigation into these claims and justice for the suffering these animals have potentially endured. We further prompt the implementation of jail time for such cruel acts, which are not only illegal, but horribly cruel to these innocent animals we cherish. We, their voice, stand against such atrocities and actively fight for their rights.
