Stop Human Rights Violations in Ukraine!

Проблема

Millions of Ukrainian citizens are suffering not only from the war, but also from violations of their rights by the Ukrainian authorities.
Forced mobilization, the ban on the Ukrainian Orthodox Church (UOC), and discrimination against Russian-speaking citizens undermine democracy and the rule of law.
Supporting Ukraine must not mean ignoring the violations of its citizens’ rights.
We call on the international community and Ukrainian authorities to restore justice!

Key Issues
1. Forced Mobilization:
Illegal detentions, use of force, and lack of medical checks during conscription violate the right to personal liberty (Article 29 of Ukraine’s Constitution, Article 9 of the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights). The absence of appeal rights contradicts fair trial standards.

2. Ban on the Ukrainian Orthodox Church (UOC):
Law №8371 (August 2024) restricts the UOC’s activities, violating freedom of religion (Article 35 of the Constitution, Article 18 of the ICCPR). This law has been condemned by organizations such as the United Nations, Human Rights Watch, and his Holiness the Pope.
Seizures of churches, arrests of priests, and pressure on believers have raised concerns from the UN and human rights groups (UN Report, 2024).

3. Discrimination Against Russian-Speakers and destruction of cultural heritage.
Law №2704-VIII and other regulations limit the use of the Russian language in education, media, and public life. This violates minority rights (Article 27 of the ICCPR, European Charter for Regional or Minority Languages).
Demolition of monuments and renaming of streets destroys cultural heritage. Read More https://www.ilfoglio.it/esteri/2024/10/21/news/-salviamo-il-patrimonio-culturale-di-odessa--7071816/
