We, the undersigned, demand an immediate end to human rights violations, land grabbing, cross-regional attacks, and the killing of innocent civilians in Hararghe, Oromia.

The people of Hararghe in the Oromia Regional State are facing grave and continuous threats to their lives, safety, and land. We speak today on behalf of the voiceless victims of violence, abuse, and neglect. This petition is a call for urgent action and justice.

⚠️ Key Concerns:

Illegal Land Grabbing: Oromo farmers and local communities are being forcefully removed from their ancestral lands without legal process or compensation.

Killings and Violence: Innocent civilians — including women, children, and the elderly — are being killed or injured in violent attacks by security forces and other armed actors.

Cross-Regional Attacks: The Somali Regional Special Force (Liyu Police) has repeatedly carried out cross-border attacks into Hararghe, destroying property, displacing communities, and killing civilians.

Displacement & Trauma: Entire families are being displaced, villages burned, and communities left traumatized.

Suppression of Dissent: Oromo youth, activists, and elders are being arbitrarily detained, tortured, or killed simply for speaking out or defending their rights.

🗣️ We Demand:

1. Immediate end to all attacks by Somali Regional Special Forces on Oromo communities in East Hararghe.

2. Cease all military and police operations targeting innocent civilians in Oromia.

3. Launch an independent investigation into the killings, land grabbing, and abuses in the region.

4. Bring perpetrators to justice, including those in command of regional special forces and federal units.

5. Return stolen land to rightful Oromo owners and compensate displaced families.

6. Deploy neutral peacekeepers or federal observers to protect civilians in conflict areas.

7. Uphold the rights of the Oromo people as guaranteed by the Ethiopian Constitution and international human rights agreements.
