Final Fantasy VII: Remake is a game that was asked by the fans for over a decade since the release of the Final Fantasy VII Tech Demo for the Playstation 3.

The original game released in 1997 is one of the most iconic titles in the video game industry, and it holds a very special place in the hearts of many fans of the franchise and the company. Loyal fans who have been betrayed by false publicity and lies.

The recent game Final Fantasy VII Remake, it's a great game, but sadly, the last portion of the story has disappointed many fans. The last 2 chapters of the story to be precise. It diverts way too much from the original story. Characters who are supposed to be dead were not killed, and it hints at different events changing the story in future titles.

The "whispers" of destiny are poorly written since they not fulfill their role completely like they supposed to, and they feel like a very bad attempt of changing the story just because they wanted to and that's caused a lot of worry in the fanbase about the future of the franchise and the remaining installments of the story.

We feel betrayed after seeing the ending of the game, because the way we see it, it's not a remake, it's either a reboot or a sequel. That ending feels like a poorly written fanfic instead of being close to the original story from 1997.

We ask for Director Tetsuya Nomura to resign his position as Director for future installments of the Final Fantasy VII Remake series and that the next games are faithful to the original story. No more making huge changes like the ones the staff did by not killing certain characters in the first part of the Remake, no more extra additions like the whispers of destiny that feel forced to be included in the story. The story can be expanded as long as the core story stays the same like the original, with some MINOR changes that don't interfere with the story of the original.

We fans didn't asked for a Reboot, we didn't asked for Sequel and we didn't asked for "another version" of the story in alternative timelines or universes or stuff like that.

A remake is supposed to be close to same thing but made again with better tools and enhancements.
Square Enix, you still have time to fix the terrible mistakes made in the last 2 chapters of the Final Fantasy VII Remake story.

Remember the last time your company made a game thinking it was great without taking in consideration the fans, Final Fantasy XIV. It was a huge disaster that had to be fixed with a Realm Reborn with a fresh take on the game and taking in consideration the fans.

You still have time to correct the mistakes that were made in the last portion of the story in the Final Fantasy VII Remake. The last 2 chapters to be more specific.

Stop disappointing your fans please, and stop lying. If you're not going to listen to this petition, at least be decent enough to call the next parts of the game Final Fantasy VII-2 or Final Fantasy VII Reboot, because with those changes to the story, it's not a Remake and the way we see it it's a scam calling it that.

We hope you take our words in mind and think carefully about the future of the game and the franchise, and take more in consideration your longtime fans who've been following your company for more than 23 years than "new generations"

We old time fans have been supporting you a lot and we don't want to feel scammed, scared about the future of the franchise and it's story, betrayed or feel like you lied to us.

Sincerely, Final Fantasy VII and Square Enix fans.

Have a great day.
