Ignoring the European Habitats Directive, Westmeath CoCo have rezoned land and in doing so rezoned habitats for destruction 

“Protected” Badgers, Pine Martens, Red Squirrel, White Egret, Snipe, Woodcock, Curlew, Newt, Frogs, our native shrew, Barnowl, Kestrel - just some of Athlone’s rich biodiversity which evident at Cornamaddy 

Planning permission was granted nine years ago for any developer to apply for removal of all badgers and setts and destroy all wildlife habitats on site 

An extension was granted (Nine Years Late), using out of date reports on biodiversity. Red Squirrels or pine martens weren’t even around Cornamaddy back then. 

Government tell us that we are NOW in a biodiversity crisis. Yet they pave the way for any  developer to come in and decimate every habitat in sight!

This decision needs to be reviewed ASAP or it will be too late
