First of all thank you for taking the time to read my petition I appreciate it and hope you will consider signing after reading a bit about the history of Brownies in Guiding.  Guiding is over 100 years old and is steeped in traditions and values shared the world over regardless of race, creed or religion. The name Brownie means a helpful little elf and is associated as the name of the group in Guiding for 7-8 year olds.  I went thru from Brownie to Pathfinder growing up and I can tell you it was 100% about inclusion to all girls to empower and educate themselves to be of service, honesty, making friends and so much more.  I went on to become a leader when my daughter became a Brownie advancing to Guides as my group flew up.  Never in my 55 years have I heard anything as ridiculous as changing the name from Brownies.  There are 100's of countries in WAGGGS from Antigua to Zimbabwe and they all have Brownies!  I get that Girl Guides of Canada is trying to be inclusive and woke but this is just wrong to erase our history and make a change for a problem that just doesn't exist in this organization.  I think perhaps if enough past and present Guiders raise our voices they will reconsider this decision
