We, the residents of Great Wakering, strongly oppose the proposed development of 360 new houses on green belt land in our village.

This development would:

Destroy protected green belt land, which is vital for wildlife, nature, and climate resilience
Overload our already stretched roads, schools, doctors, and other public services
Permanently change the character of Great Wakering, a village that values its open space, heritage, and community
Green belt land exists to prevent urban sprawl and preserve the environment. Once it’s gone, it’s gone forever. This development benefits developers - not the people who live here!

We urge Rochford District Council and all relevant planning authorities to reject this proposal and defend our green belt.
