Stop Fraudulent use of Food Stamps

The Issue

Have you ever saw or known someone who abuses government assistance? I believe the US Government waste too much tax paying dollars to families that do not require or need Food stamps. The Unites States on average spend 122.8 billion dollars a year in Food stamps. Beside FY 21 where we spent 182.5 billion due to Covid-19. I believe in order to correct this measure the system must be re-vamped. The United States either needs to use a system as that the WIC program where families will receive checks that state what an how much they can receive weekly for the size of their family. The system I believe would benefit the most and find who really requires assistance is to revert back to the Government Surplus Food program, where individuals come and pick up a box of food items weekly without choice of what they receive. This will eliminate the extra cost of inflation but also only those who truly need it to survive will want it as the ones who do not need it will choose not to take it. This would allow the Government to save money and be able to use those funds for other areas requiring it, ex. Homeless shelters, or low income housing, job assistance.
