STOP for Sandro: Install a Stop Sign to Make Our Community Safer!

The Issue

In the wake of the tragic bicycle accident that took Sandro Lazo's life on August 8th, 2024, residents of our community demand a stop sign at the intersection of Perrin Road and Fowler Avenue in Clovis, CA.

Sandro was only 16 years old. On July 31st, another 25-year-old was hit by a car and was also killed at the same intersection.

This intersection, located in a residential area with a 45 mph speed limit, is a ticking time bomb. The current lack of a stop sign on Fowler Avenue creates a dangerous situation for drivers, cyclists, and pedestrians alike. The community has requested a stop sign for a long time prior to Sandro's accident. We cannot afford to lose another life due to a preventable accident.

Here's why a stop sign at Perrin and Fowler is crucial:

Increased Safety: A stop sign will force drivers to come to a complete stop, improving visibility and reducing the risk of accidents.
Protecting Our Community: This intersection is located in a residential area frequented by children, families, and cyclists. A stop sign is essential for their safety.
Honoring Sandro's Memory: Let's prevent similar tragedies from occurring and honor his memory.

Take Action!

Dear Supervisor [Name],

I am writing to propose the installation of a stop sign at the intersection of Perrin Road and Fowler Avenue. This proposal comes in response to a tragic accident. Sandro Lazo was hit and killed on August 8th, 2024 at the intersection of Perrin Road and Fowler Avenue in Clovis, CA. This is a residential area where the speed limit is 45 mph and that absolutely must be changed. There must be change on this street in order to save lives and protect the people who live on this incredibly busy road. We are demanding a STOP SIGN on Fowler Ave at Perrin.

Thank you for your time and consideration.

Sincerely,

[Your Name]

Please sign this petition and demand a stop sign at the intersection of Perrin Road and Fowler Avenue in Clovis, CA. Together, we can make Perrin and Fowler safe and honor Sandro.
