As a concerned citizen, I am deeply disturbed by the alarming number of cats being hit by vehicles and drivers callously driving off without taking responsibility for their actions. This petition aims to make it illegal to hit a cat and drive away, holding individuals accountable for their actions and ensuring justice for these innocent animals.

Growing up in a neighborhood filled with feline companions, I have witnessed firsthand the devastating consequences of reckless driving. It breaks my heart to see lifeless bodies lying on the side of the road while drivers continue on their way without even stopping to check if they can help or report the incident. This lack of empathy is not only morally wrong but also contributes to an ongoing cycle of animal cruelty.

While it may seem like common sense that hitting any living creature and leaving it injured or dead should be illegal, unfortunately, current laws often fail to adequately address this issue when it comes specifically to cats.
