Our Community Is in Danger!

Attention All Residents,                                                                            Our suburban way of life is under attack from dangerous overdevelopment in North Lawrence and Inwood with high-density multi-story rental units. Despite community outrage and a unanimous Town Board vote (11/19/24) to repeal high-density Transit Oriented Development (TOD) zoning, a judge overturned it due to a technical error—missing paperwork.

This Must Be Corrected Immediately.                                                      The Town Board must hold a hearing to REINTRODUCE the repeal with proper paperwork and procedures and VOTE AGAIN to RESCIND the TOD zoning and any grandfathered projects. A Town-commissioned environmental review confirmed these developments would be detrimental to our “community character, infrastructure, public health, quality of life, security, emergency services, and traffic.”

Can we possibly add 1000’s of apartments and cars to our already congested roadways? We all know the current nightmare of traffic on Rockaway Turnpike and other main roads like Central Avenue and Broadway. Our emergency evacuation egress would be totally ineffective, trapping us all in any disaster.

Time Is Of The Essence.                                                                              Our politicians and elected officials must advocate for us, their constituents, and not for developers who will ruin our communities.

The Town Board MUST “Do The Right Thing!” The Town Board has the power to protect our suburban way of life. They must act now!

Let’s stand united to protect our homes, families, suburban character and our future.

Sign the petition now to send a clear message to officials — local, Nassau County and state: We Say NO to Overdevelopment. Protect Our Neighborhoods – Save Our Suburbs!!

Share this petition with your family, friends, and neighbors.                        Every signature counts!

Keep our community Suburban, Not Urban!
