2023 - STOP Fireworks at Miller Park Zoo in Bloomington, Il

The Issue

Independence Day 2023-Change the Venue!

Stop the Fireworks Display at Miller Park Zoo!

For well over 25 years, McLean County and the City of Bloomington, IL have used Miller Park for their yearly fireworks display. Miller Park is home to the Miller Park Zoo where many exotic animals are housed. The Fireworks Display detonates fireworks directly over the zoo for nearly an hour every Fourth of July. Be the voice for those that cannot run and hide, as their instinct would naturally dictate. Demand the City of Bloomington, McLean County, IL, and those who are hired to oversee the welfare of all the animals at Miller Park Zoo change the venue this year for the fireworks display 2023.

As we celebrate a day set aside for freedom, remember the animals that are caged and terrorized by those who continue to set off display fireworks over the animals at Miller Park Zoo in Bloomington, IL.

“You were created to do good work. Work that empowers and inspires, liberates and transforms, restores and softens. Yes, work can be hard-as it was meant to be...rejecting passivity and demanding sustained effort. It provokes, agitates, and disturbs. But this work-the call for justice-is good work. It defends the oppressed and frees the captive. It tears down walls and destroys barriers. It changes things. So, when you’re feeling weary, hopeless, or spent, remind yourself that the darkness is being flooded by the marvelous light. Yes, this is work, and it is good.”
