Harris Academy Sutton students are affected by the implementation of fingerprint meal payments by exposing a valuable piece of identity just to buy lunch!

Harris Academy Sutton students are putting their valuable information and potentially banking details at risk because a fingerprint is a permanent and essentially unchangeable piece of identity, unlike a smartcard or password.

It is now time to act because, the school has already scanned the fingerprints. The longer the system is active, the more amount of time attackers can break into the system and compromise the students' fingerprints!

• 2023-07-04: We sent an email asking for more info and to express concern.
• 2023-07-05: Online petition launched
• 2023-07-06T08:00+01:00: In-person protest at school gates.
• 2023-07-06T08:25+01:00: School continues on plan
• 2023-07-06T14:24+01:00: Complaint email sent to Harris Federation
• 2023-07-07T18:00+01:00: Complaint sent to DfE
• 2023-08-08T07:05+01:00: First reply from the Principal, Mr Fisher: The school "are not planning any more fingerprint collections at present."
