It is unjust and dangerous to permit an individual who has been proven guilty of 34 counts by a unanimous jury to be elected to a position where they could continue to undermine our institutions and endanger our democracy.

Attempted Coup and Capitol Insurrection:

The former President promoted and permitted the storming of the U.S. Capitol on January 6th, 2021. His inaction during this violent insurrection, including ignoring calls to stop the assault and failing to denounce threats against the Vice President, directly endangered lives and threatened the peaceful transfer of power.

Obstruction of Democratic Processes:

By denying the clear results of the 2020 election and hindering the peaceful transfer of power, the former President undermined the very foundation of our democratic system.

Mishandling Classified Information:

The storage of top-secret military documents at his private residence further jeopardizes national security and demonstrates a blatant disregard for the responsibilities of the office.
Despite these grave transgressions, our government and justice system have failed to take timely and decisive action to prevent this individual from seeking office again.
