STOP FACTORY FARMS IN TOWN OF TRENTON, WEST BEND, WISCONSIN

The Issue

TOWN OF TRENTON RESIDENTS - TELL town officials not to allow 4999 animal units in our Town! They are creating a zone to allow Factory Farms in our community!

I live just 1.2 miles from a controversial factory farm— a label that it certainly deserves. Every day, the peace of our neighborhood is disrupted by the constant rumble of manure trucks passing by, leaving behind noise and pollution. These trucks don't just carry manure; they symbolize the environmental harm and plummeting property values that come with them.

Our most essential resource, groundwater, is being tainted by runoff, and when we turn on our faucets, we no longer enjoy the purity of fresh water, but instead, the disturbing reminder of the factory farm's impact. The thought of this situation worsening with the proposed expansion of the farm is simply unacceptable.

Moreover, the looming threat of declining property values is real and impossible to ignore. Who would choose to build a life in an area so severely impacted by this environmental hazard? The value of our homes continues to decrease, with the swinging of our property gates now marking the drop in market prices.

The roads surrounding our homes, once peaceful routes, are now being destroyed by the constant flow of heavy manure trucks. These trucks are not only damaging our infrastructure but also costing us, the taxpayers, to repair roads that are being worn down far beyond their capacity. The proposed expansion of the factory farm would only increase this burden, leading to even more strain on our public roads.

The Town of Trenton is changing its agricultural zoning to allow industrial farms in our area! They are currently changing the amount of animal units from 999 to 4999 units. This will affect not only our community, but also extend to Cedarburg, Grafton, and even Milwaukee!  HELP US STOP FACTORY FARMS IN TOWN OF TRENTON, WEST BEND, WISCONSIN!

This petition aims to block this change and prevent the expansion of this non-compliant factory farm. We must act now for the sake of our community, our properties, our roads, and most critically, our groundwater. Will you join me in standing against this injustice?
