Recently, self-proclaimed officials of the National Union of Dispatch Riders, Motorcycle Owners and Riders in Nigeria (NUDRMON) are planning to forcefully register members/non member of the dispatch committee in Nigeria particular here in Abuja. These so-called officials are threatening and coercing dispatch riders to buy body number/ capturing at the rate of #20,000, something that can be achieve for free because of the advancement in technology.
Working as a dispatch rider in Abuja is notoriously tough. With long hours, challenging traffic, and demanding deliveries, these riders strive to earn a decent living for themselves and their families. However, with the pressures from these alleged officials, the already difficult job becomes nearly untenable. Riders are left with two choices: comply with these baseless demands, or face harassment by the union using security agencies.
