My son, who has Autism, has been working tirelessly to achieve his goal of obtaining a driver's license. After numerous attempts, he finally passed his theory test with great determination and encouragement. As a parent, I understand the importance of this milestone for him as it will provide him with the independence he needs to pursue his goals.

However, we are now faced with an unfortunate situation that many aspiring drivers are encountering. It has become almost impossible to find available driving test slots within a reasonable timeframe. This issue is exacerbated by driving greedy crook instructors and companies buying up these limited slots and attempting to resell them at inflated prices.

This exploitation is not only unfair but also puts genuine students in a difficult position. Many individuals, like my son, have a limited period after passing their theory test to take their practical exam before it expires. With the scarcity of available slots and no movement towards extending this period, desperate students are being taken advantage of by these greedy individuals who profit from their desperation.

It is crucial that we address this issue promptly to ensure equal opportunities for all aspiring drivers. We need the Competition and Markets Authority and the Government to urgently regulate driving instructors and companies involved in purchasing and reselling driving test slots at higher rates.
